What We Do
ALSEAMAR – Contributing to the Knowledge and Protection of the Marine Environment
ALSEAMAR is a key player in oceanographic research and marine environment monitoring, with a clear mission: to contribute to the knowledge and protection of the oceans through advanced in-situ data collection and analysis.
With over 10 years of experience in ocean exploration, ALSEAMAR has designed, developed and continues to operate and maintain its own a fleet of 20 SEAEXPLORER gliders. These innovative autonomous underwater vehicles are equipped with more than 40 specialized sensors designed to collect precise data throughout the entire water column.
Leveraging this unique technological expertise, ALSEAMAR supports subsea data collection campaigns, water quality monitoring programs, and hydrological and bathymetric surveys. On average, the company conducts 150 missions per year, covering a wide range of scientific and operational contexts.
The data collected by ALSEAMAR feed into international data models, helping improve our understanding of oceanic processes and enabling informed decision-making for the preservation of marine ecosystems.
ALSEAMAR’s scientific research department brings together a multidisciplinary team of oceanographers, acousticians, and SEAEXPLORER glider specialists. Our experts process, analyze, and interpret the data to deliver accurate and comprehensive reports on key oceanographic parameters.
ALSEAMAR’s core areas of expertise include:
• Oceanic process studies : providing reliable and accurate data to help scientists decipher the mechanisms driving ocean transformation.
• Underwater observatory operations : managing autonomous observatories to ensure continuous, real-time monitoring of ocean health.
• Wide-area assessment : producing rapid, high-resolution maps of vast underwater regions to support development and investment decisions.
• Marine ecosystem monitoring : contributing to long-term observation programs (PAM, REA) for ecosystem protection and sustainability.
By combining cutting-edge technology, scientific excellence, and a strong environmental commitment, ALSEAMAR stands as a trusted partner in advancing ocean knowledge and building a sustainable future for the marine environment.
